Oosterpark is a large public park known for its lush greenery, beautiful ponds, and vibrant birdlife. It offers a peaceful retreat for picnics, BBQ, leisurely walks, skating and cycling. It’s also a great place for families as there is a huge children’s playground just in the middle of the park. The expansive grassy area is popular with sports enthusiasts, frequently hosting football, volleyball, and other activities.
Ooosterpark is located in the east part of Amsterdam, close to Javastraat or the Amsterdam zoo (Artis). This park is a bit hard to reach from the centra station by public transport, you need to take the metro 51, 53 or 54 and walk for another 10 minutes. Though if you have the bike, that’s much easier, only takes 13 minutes.
Oosterpark also features several notable sculptures and monuments, that are worth checking. And if you wish to grab a coffee for your walk there are a few coffee stands and a restaurant (called Park Café-Restauran) just in the park.
