The Wereldmuseum, also known as the Tropenmuseum, is a fantastic hidden gem in Amsterdam, often overlooked due to its off-center location away from the famous Museum Square. However, culture enthusiasts should certainly visit this hidden treasure.

The Wereldmuseum provides a deeper dive into the Netherlands colonial past and it’s treasures, featuring historical artefacts, photographies and real live stories from past Dutch colonies.

Location

Wereldmuseum is located in the east part of Amsterdam right by the Oosterpark. You can reach it by the metro (51/ 53 or 54).
