If you find yourself in the west of Amsterdam, just outside the famous Joordan area and you want to find affordable drinks and snacks, Checkpoint Charlie is a great option. Here you will find a large selection of beers on tap as well as in bottles, affordable cocktails and wine paired with some traditional Dutch snacks.
Checkpoint Charlie always gives me skater vibes, with funky graffitis, stickers on the walls and vintage furniture. It’s easy to feel like a local here as the atmosphere is laid back and welcoming.
One of the best features about this cafe is the pool table and the pinball machine, you can easily play it by inserting 2 euro coins. I spend countles hours at that pool table with my friends, it’s a great fun!
Another great thing about this place is the outside terrasse, if the weather is good you can enjoy the sunshine.
